My Project

My kindergarten students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Each child brings their own story, strengths, and perspective into our classroom. As a first-year teacher, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where every student feels seen, supported, and excited to learn. A classroom rug will give us a shared space to come together each day for stories, lessons, and building a classroom community.

This rug will be the heart of our classroom.

It will provide a consistent gathering place that helps students feel grounded and connected, no matter their background or home experience. For many of my students, this is their first time in a school setting, and having an organized space to sit and learn together will make a big difference in their comfort and focus. Your support will help us start our year with a strong foundation for learning, belonging, and growth.
