My Project
Teaching social-emotional skills to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is critically important for their overall development. Students with autism typically require direct, explicit instruction and consistent practice in order to acquire social and emotional skills.
The books list below will give my students the opportunity to learn critical social and emotional skills through reading.
This will also assist them in developing critical reading skills.
By developing foundational social skills through reading, students with autism are better equipped to form and maintain friendships, which can significantly reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation and improve their quality of life.
