This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) state testing window approaches in April, it is essential to consider the well-being of our 4th graders during this challenging time. Implementing text incentives such as stress and anxiety release toys and snacks can significantly benefit our students in several ways:

Stress Relief: Standardized testing can create anxiety and stress among students.

Providing stress-relief toys like play dough, slime, and stress balls can help them manage their feelings. These tactile tools promote focus and relaxation, allowing students to express their emotions in a constructive manner.

Boosting Morale: Offering snacks such as granola bars, gummies, and cookies provides a positive reinforcement that encourages students to approach testing with a more optimistic mindset. A little treat can go a long way in making students feel appreciated and valued, which can enhance their overall testing experience.

Improving Focus and Performance: Research shows that when students are comfortable and less anxious, they can concentrate better on their tasks. The presence of fidget toys can help some students channel their excess energy or anxiety into productive activity, leading to improved focus and potentially better performance on the tests.

Encouraging Team Spirit: Distributing incentives can promote a sense of community and camaraderie among students. When they share snacks and toys, it can strengthen friendships and create a supportive atmosphere, making the testing experience more enjoyable.

Providing text incentives such as stress and anxiety release toys and snacks during the CMAS state testing window is a proactive approach to support our 4th graders. By prioritizing their emotional and mental well-being, we can help them navigate this important period with confidence and resilience. Let's work together to make this testing experience a positive one!
