This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is my dream to be able to show our school's Grade 4 students how to measure and observe our environment and its changes: our Title 1 school kids need to open up to the possibilities technology has made available to us to explore the weather in our environment and record its changes over time.
Having a weather station would mean that students in 5 Grade 4 groups would have access to daily new discoveries straight from their school's grounds, without having to go all the way to a museum or a lab.
This would allow my colleagues and I to do more hands on activities and inspire our students to becoming future researchers. This is Part 3 of 2 previous projects requesting a stereo and a regular microscope: while with the other ones my students will be able to see macro and micro organisms, with this one they will be able to measure and observe the environment and how the weather impacts it.
