Help me give my students the opportunity to grow and run their own on-campus cafe! We're in need of items to get us started until the cafe can fund itself.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Grizzly Bean is a student-run, on-campus cafe made up of Life Skills and CTE Entrepreneurship students. (Life Skills students have a combination of disabilities requiring extensive communication and/or physical and mobility supports.) The Grizzly Bean will provide real world application for Life Skills students, while our young entrepreneurs will collaborate and communicate with classmates who are differently abled than them.
Our high school is in need of opportunities to create positive relationships of understanding, empathy and comfortability between students who may look, think or act differently from one another.
We believe The Grizzly Bean can do just that. We also believe The Grizzly Bean will benefit our school spirit and life-long connections made between students.
We look forward to creating a formalized space where our students interact as equal partners in our local and wider communities. The Grizzly Bean is an exceptional opportunity for our Entrepreneurship students to apply the coursework learned in the classroom in practice and grow into leaders who will create professional environments respectful of all people.
