The Greatest STEM Challenge of All: Materials for STEM
My students need the Sphero Ball and Raspberry Pi3 starter set for each learning center, in order for to develop proficiency in STEM subjects.

My Students
Many of my students are faced with several obstacles both in and out of the classroom and lack the resources and knowledge to overcome many of the obstacles before them. Sixty percent of our students are economically disadvantaged, almost twenty percent have special needs, and thirty-three percent are English language learners yet they are truly hard working, resilient and special.
As my students enter our classroom each day, we hope to present them with various opportunities to discover principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through engaging materials and fun activities.
The goal of our class is to expose our students to the fields of Engineering, Robotics and Computer Science. We hope that our classroom will provide an environment in which they are free to learn and engage with our rigorous curriculum and acquire the skills and knowledge they need to open doors in the future.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will be used by over 500 students every week for the entire school year. Our school is just starting to build a STEM program for our students in grades 3-8. My students have already learned to apply the basic principles of engineering and design to the construction of bridges, towers and two motored cars, but we are limited in our materials. My students have begun to complain that they're bored with the projects that we're doing and are no longer interested in STEM.
By donating to my project, you will help me to provide my students with fun and varied experiences to show my students that STEM can be fun and engaging.
You will also be investing in the talent of the workforce of the future. The Raspberry Pi kits will help me to teach my students basic computer programming language and game creation and innovation. With the Sphero ball, my students can learn to code while applying multiplication, division and geometry. They can draw, problem solve, test their designs, fail, and re-design all in one class period!
My goal is to expose ALL of my students to the field of STEM through hands-on and engaging activities and challenges that help them to discover solutions to real world problems. Raspberry Pi Kits and Sphero Balls will help to expose my students to the fields of robotics and computer science in fun and innovative ways.
