My Project
Working with struggling readers is one of my passions. I love to help them develop and hone their skills, thus enabling them, to find long-term success in high school and beyond.
The Great Gatsby is an incredible high interest classic that all of my students enjoy to read.
Students become absorbed by the storyline and end up having brilliant conversations filled with inferences from the text. They love the drama and conflicts that are embedded in the story. But they also thoroughly enjoy looking at how each character chases their American Dream.
Students who do not normally like to read, love this book. In fact, I have a difficult time getting to stop. Fitzgerald's classic is a gem that my students devour.
