This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When working in a school that ranges from pre-K all the way to 8th grade with no budget and being the only art teacher in the building, supplies are hard to come by. Because the vast majority of my students come from poverty I cannot expect their parents to send even basic supplies to school.

My students are bright and inquisitive learners who love creative problem solving through art exploration.

We do many collage themed projects that require lots of glue sticks. I see over 500 students a week and we need supplies to last us through the school year.

My Project

I need your help. I had no budget this year and it looks like I am going to be in the same situation next year. We need basic adhesives of different kinds, glue sticks, several dozen of Elmer's glue sticks in two sizes, some bright colored tissue paper in warm and cool tones and some large scale butterflies for upcoming spring projects.

A large part of the New York blueprints for the arts is using different materials and learning how to use them.

I want to be able to give my students that opportunity. Without donors like you we won't have the same opportunities in our art classroom that some students in more affluent areas take for granted. Please help my students see that artists really do 'stick' together! :-)
