This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing full of energy and with a passion to learn. They love to do hands-on and engaging activities.
Students in this community come from low income families, many families in this community go without the basic necessities.
I love that even with the needs they face they are strong an full of capabilities, full of life and full of ideas. My students love to immerse themselves in reading. They create so many opportunities in which I can read to them about the various different cultures in our classroom and community.
My Project
I am requesting books about diversity in our community! This project will help give my students the gift of reading about the differences in our community. Whether it be online or in person reading about the differences in our school community will teach students. kindness, empathy and an overall knowledge of acceptance.
Students can connect to the books and understand that our community has all sorts of diverse culture and when we come together we can build greatness.
These lessons will teach students how to use their own strengths and points of view to contribute to our school community.
