This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After COVID my school lost its entire supply of locks for our student lockers. After we closed in March of 2020 our students never returned to school so most of the locks had to be cut. Many of my students do not have the means to buy the locks themselves and our system only works if ALL our middle school students can use a locker.

My goal for this project is to be able to provide all middle school students (in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade) a lock to be able to use their assigned locker.

Not only will this allow them to safely store their items in their lockers so they don't need to carry everything around with them the entire day, but this will also help them prepare for high school. Lockers may seem like an insignificant preparation tool but by using lockers they are working on their time management and organization skills.
