My Project
Did you know that approximately 1 in 5 students (20%) are estimated to have Dyslexia! This project will help the 5th-grade team meet the needs of many students who may struggle academically or behaviorally but excel in other areas.
My goal for this project is to help our students know and understand that their learning differences can be a gift, and that they are all valued members of our classroom community.
Children with dyslexia often struggle in school, particularly with reading and writing. They may also have difficulty understanding instructions, following directions, and completing assignments. Because of this, they often feel frustrated, anxious, and overwhelmed. They often have great communication skills, ways of thinking "outside of the box", amazing art abilities, and show impressive leadership skills. This project is designed to help me better meet the academic and social-emotional needs of our students and encourage them to excel in school.
The art materials in this project will be used to incorporate art into our learning, which is a great way to inspire our students and give them a healthy way of expressing themselves. Thank you so much for your generous support to help us inspire the future leaders of tomorrow!
