My Students

My students are in temporary housing. I am the community coordinator and I support students and their families with housing, benefits, and all other needs.

While many of my students are experiencing displacement, homelessness, doubled up, ​etc.

many of them are still doing well in class and are resilient enough not to let those circumstances stop them from being all they can be.

My students are special needs and are diagnosed with different mental, educational, or social disabilities. They still work just as hard as the students in general education.

My Project

Help me give my students the gift of reading books that have characters that represent them!

I have chosen these books because they celebrate diversity and that shows our students that they are represented in literature.

I hope that our students can see themselves in all of the characters and read wonderful, inspiring things that they can achieve if they put their minds to it.

I am looking forward to reading these stories and relating them back to the lives of the students. Representation matters, especially in the world of literature!

I have also added some fun equipment for our students and newborn products to gift to the new moms in our school and assist them with their new addition!
