Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Technology has change so much in just the last 5 years!
My students are 100% Latino.
90% are Limited English Proficient. This year, I have several parents that have limited schooling and all of my parents bring their children to school for a better opportunity. My parents are positive and my students are eager learners. We are in a large (700+) urban school in California.
My Project
We are learning to read, learning to add, and learning to be responsible citizens of the 21st century. I am requesting the SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 2 wi-fi 16GB. My students will be listening to stories, seeing educational videos, and making presentations.
We have adopted Accelerated Reader, a personalized reading program that requires the students to take a "quiz" after each book they have read. If students have access to the SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB2 they will be able to take the quiz immediately instead of waiting to go to the computer lab.
My students are entering a fast-paced technological based word.
My students have started out in their lives surrounded by poverty. Poverty is a circumstance that is beyond a 6 year-old's control. I want to give my students a rocket booster jump so that they can be excited about school and strive to want more.
