The Functions and Forms of Masks Making

My Project

My students are special because they possess the desire to learn how various cultures around the world design and create different 3D artifacts that are used to represent their lifestyles and beliefs. I want to give my students the opportunity to create face masks using the face mask forms and modeling material I am asking for. Upon presenting them with the idea of creating face masks that can represent their own family's culture and lifestyle, my students immediately started exploring and researching their family's history, to collect ideas for their own mask-making designs. I could see the excitement building up as they started collecting information that they probably never realized about their own history before. My students will use the materials to create masks that represent themselves, and they are ready to get started!
