The Flow of Reading: Fluency Matters

Help me give my students a opportunity to model fluency to younger students in an early childhood setting.

My Project

The requested books will provide a resource for my students. We sponsor job shadowing opportunities, and a few students have chosen to visit childcare facilities and early education classrooms. The students voted to all read the same book, however, we do not have enough copies. They will spend the day shadowing the teacher for their project. During that time students will read the selected book to the class. This will provide an opportunity for students to model fluency with a book that is age appropriate for all. It shows the younger students how reading should sound and allows a peer-to-peer environment. Upon completion, students will be able to reflect upon their experience and share this with their peers.
