My Students
Hello! I spent the past eight years teaching middle school. This year I've transitioned to teaching elementary. I'm excited about utilizing technology to enhance instruction and organize curriculum content. My students come from a diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
We're a fourth and fifth grade combination class.
I like to think that a combo class provides students dual opportunities to learn concepts. That whatever my students don't totally understand in year 1, they'll get a second at it in chance in year 2.
The students at my school care deeply about their community and about achieving academically. We like to think of ourselves as a school that sits on the top of a hill, with the ocean right to our west and the skies above!
My Project
The iPad has a broad range of usefulness in terms of supporting my students:
1.
As a completely portable learning tool, the iPad camera allows documentation to be taken to a whole different level.
2. Presenting content through direct instruction using a variety of mobile apps.
3. Differentiating curriculum to small groups of students or conferring with individual students.
4. I can use apps and games to make learning more personalized to fit each students progress.
5. The iPad can make managing a classroom and keeping up with a class full of students much easier.
6. An iPad can make lessons more customized and engaging.
7. By connecting the iPad to my Apple TV, I can display information from the iPad to the interactive whiteboard for students to view. This allows me to walk around the classroom while teaching instead of just being stuck up front.
