The Fight for Fitness and Teaching Healthy Lifestyles!

Help me give my students an opportunity to experience weightlifting in a safe environment. Our current weight room is outdated and needing a facelift. Our students enjoy lifting, but need up to date equipment.

My Project

I am so blessed to be able to teach physical education and health at my current school. Once again, we are needing some help with buying new fitness equipment. We are a Title I school so funding is sparse for elective teachers like myself. I teach a lot of fitness based lessons and units.

New weight racks will allow our students to lift in a safer environment without the risk of injury.

Also new equipment will provide ample opportunities to exercise various muscles that are critical to lifetime physical activity.

Goals for this project include but are not limited to:

1. weightlifting safety

2. provide new fitness opportunities

3. promote healthier lifestyles

4. boost self confidence in the weight-room

5. develop all 5 areas of fitness components (cardio, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body mass index).

My students are special to me because they deserve the chance to experience a safe and professional weight room facility and all it has to offer.
