My Students
"... wildcat PRIDE!" Ah, the rap that ends all of our assemblies, this time ending a great assembly to get students reading! The students of my elementary school in Arvada, Colorado come from a variety of backgrounds and living situations. This year we have a large population of our second grade students on READ plans, and they need our help! Having been a struggling reader myself, I know exactly how they feel. These students have a love for learning, a thirst for knowledge, and goals to achieve greatness! My job and my goal are to get them there.
My Project
The use of an easel is an everyday occurrence in my primary classroom. Students use the easel to show their thinking with the class. I use the easel to make anchor charts with students, write learning targets, let students come up and show their thinking, and much much more. Your generous donation will help support the second grade classes at my elementary school. Having an easel that is child height and has easy access materials will help students connect to their learning by accessing materials at the easel. This will help students foster a love for learning that will transfer to a lifelong thirst for knowledge!
