This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How do I begin to describe my students? Goodness... These are kids that come from very poor neighbors as we are one of the top poverty stricken schools in the county. We qualify for Title I services and do receive support for this. Our students are very grateful for all things they get as they know it is because their teachers care about them. This is a predominantly Hispanic community and the families here are close. They support the school in many ways because of the services and the way the teachers here at CWES go all out for their students.

My kids make teaching a new adventure everyday despite circumstances they or their families are going through at home!

They come to school with the attitude of wanting to learn and it makes it all so much more worth it! They all have many different needs, but most need the ability to move around. By creating an environment with the option of flexible seating, my students have began to prove they are able to focus and achieve greater amounts when they are given this freedom. I hope to be able to give them more options of flexible seating soon!

My Project

By providing my students with these materials, it will make a difference in their overall learning and improve their lives by allowing them to see that movement in the classroom is okay. We can embrace their kinesthetic needs when we provide them with such materials.

My students like to wiggle and that is just what they can do with these seats!

I want them to feel comfortable within their classroom and be able to own their learning styles. I hope to make it happen! This would mean so much to my students and myself if they were able to grow and learn at the same time and feel comfortable in doing so!
