Help me give my students a class set of Notes from a Young Black Chef, a timer, glue stick and more fir a stronger connection to literacy and the culinary arts.
Culinary is an engaging learning experience for all students. Literacy allows students to connect with the stories of others that have come before them. It allows them to see the struggles and successes of those individuals.
For students that wish to pursue a career in culinary, they will be able to read about the experiences of a young black chef, they can identify with the challenges he faced socio-economically and racially.
It will give them a broader look at what others have endured and how they utilized the skills and knowledge to overcome those obstacles.
