The Cozy Corner For Young Writers

Help me give my students an area where they can practice their writing skills, and that will be used for enrichment and remediation in small group instruction.

My Project

I love my gifted students because they are curious, creative, and full of ideas. However, many struggle with writing, especially my ESOL and SPED students, who often feel overwhelmed by the process. My goal is to create a Cozy Corner for Young Writers—a welcoming space where they can develop confidence, express their thoughts, and enjoy writing.

The resources I’m requesting—technology, writing supplies, and incentives—will make a significant difference.

Laptops or tablets will allow students to draft, research, and revise efficiently. Writing paper, pencils, and other supplies will ensure that every student has the materials they need to get started. Incentives will help motivate reluctant writers, encouraging them to engage in the process and celebrate their progress.

What makes my students special is their unique perspectives and diverse learning styles. They have powerful stories to tell but often lack the confidence to put their thoughts on paper. By creating a comfortable and supportive writing space, I can help them overcome their fears and develop essential skills for success.
