My Project

In our first-grade classroom, we spend a lot of time learning together on the floor. Every morning, we spend time learning through morning meeting and calendar time. Every afternoon, we spend time on the floor for story time. I want my students to have a comfortable spot to sit as we gather and grow. During reading and math centers we are in need of flexible seating to spread out to work with partners. We eat lunch early in first grade and by 1:45pm they are needing some healthy snacks to fuel their learning the remainder of the day.

My school is a Title I school.

This means most students come from low-income families. Since COVID-19, many of our families are still struggling with purchasing supplies for their children.

I want each student to feel safe and loved every day in our first-grade cozy classroom. I know this rug, flexible seating, and snacks will allow us to share and make memories!
