My Students

My students are energetic students that are on the move all the time! They love to be engaged in learning new things and are excited to come to school to see what we are doing next. Each student is on their own level, striving to learn authentically so they can apply their knowledge in real-world experiences.

My students come into the room each day excited about what they will learn next.

They are excited about their accomplishments and love to share them with others. They come from a strong community, but the methods and environments in which they learn varies. We incorporate different learning strategies to help each child succeed. These include group work, alternative seating, and at times stations. They are an amazing group of students! They are creative and share so much with each other on their journey of learning.

My Project

My students use personal whiteboards and dry erase markers daily! We use them in math to practice and demonstrate what we are learning as well as when we want to save on paper.

But there are always those students who can never keep track of their dry erase marker or they "borrow" from the classroom stash, never to be seen again.

Replacing these can become very expensive. Our current whiteboards have been shown lots of "love" over the years. Whiteboards are engaging but have become problematic with the markers and wear on the boards. This has taken away from learning time.

These Boogie Boards will help keep my students engaged and save on what little time we have in the classroom, not to mention the expense needed to purchase and repurchase markers to write with.

This project would provide enough boards to use with my students in a small group setting as well as whole class work.
