The Competitive Edge We Need!

Help me give my students Nintendo Switch Pro controllers to have a competitive edge when playing our recently added game SMASH to our eSports program.

My Students

Our students involved in eSports have enjoyed our inaugural season this previous year.

This entire group has found a sense of teamwork and belonging as they discover what it takes to work with one another and win matches against other teams.

Some students are athletes participating in other sports, but where our program shines is allowing those who do not enjoy traditional sports to have an opportunity for scholarships and career opportunities in the gaming industry.

They are always looking for the next thing that will give them a competitive edge!

My Project

Our eSports program has recently added the video game Super Smash Brothers Ultimate to our lineup thanks to generous donations on the Donorschoose platform. This game requires a high level of hand-eye coordination to be able to compete effectively.

Other schools that have added this game are using the Nintendo Pro wireless controller, rather than the joy-con controllers that come pre-packaged with the Switch.

This controller is larger and has a more familiar feel to other consoles players may have previously used.

With these controllers, we'll be able to not only compete in locally held tournaments within our program, but also give us the competitive edge as we take on other schools online.
