Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their curiosity, resilience, and the joy they bring to learning each day. They come from diverse backgrounds and each bring something unique to our classroom community. I see how hard they try, and I want to create an environment that supports their academic growth while also nurturing their emotional well being.
The reading corner; with its carpet, bean bags, and floor lamp—will give my first grade students a cozy, welcoming space where they can truly learn to enjoy books without distractions.
Many of my students thrive when given a quiet, comfortable place to read, especially those who struggle with attention or need a calm space to decompress. The bean bags provide flexible seating for students who have trouble sitting still in traditional chairs, the carpet defines a clear area for focused reading time, and the lamp adds soft lighting that makes the space feel special and safe. Altogether, these resources will help foster a lifelong love of reading in a space where every student feels valued and ready to learn. Please help me with providing my students with the feeling of a; "home away from home."
