This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In today's world, racial diversity is often brought up in urban communities. Children need to be immersed and learn about the world and all its different cultures and people. Through the study of cultural diversity students will learn acceptance of others and make connections to themselves so that in the future they are more empathetic to others. Children need to learn how to interact and be exposed to an array of people and cultures through literacy and art.
The materials that I am asking for will give my pre-school students the opportunity to draw, paint, and talk about racial and cultural diversity in an age-appropriate manner.
Also, the students will make cultural rain sticks, use soup bowls to make cultural drums, and use toilet paper rolls to make other multicultural crafts and maracas.
