My Students

I teach second grade at a school where students thrive on the success of each other, creating a loving environment for their classmates. Every morning, my students come to class with an eagerness to learn. They are a group of 20 amazing students, who are committed to their learning and work hard to accomplish their goals.

Our class is full of critical thinkers as we work hard to analyze, synthesize, communicate, and create.

We are a class that works together to collaborate together that fosters a classroom culture of digital citizenship that allows us to consider diverse perspectives of others.

My Project

In my classroom, carpet time is one of the most important times of our day. Our carpet time is a safe place not only for whole group learning, but for our morning and afternoon meetings. It gives our class a chance to greet each other each day and create a sense of community. Not only do we use it for our gathering space, but we use this space for a majority of our whole group instruction.

Carpet time allows me to see my kids demonstrate whatever concepts we are working on and allows positive learning interaction between my students.

In order to create a warm and inviting classroom environment, our class needs a new rug. Our current classroom rug is stained and the stitching is coming undone through to continued use each day. This new rug will be loved and adored for years to come as our current rug has the last ten years. Help give my class a new rug to update our dedicated carpet time space.
