My Students
Situated in a small town, our school is a Title I school with a high percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch. Our classroom is full of students who have multiple abilities and are working hard to overcome many roadblocks.
Each day when my students walk into my classroom, my goal is to immerse them in meaningful experiences that will motivate and inspire them.
My team and I work hard to provide experiences that will create opportunities for growth and learning.
My Project
Our project "The Color of Me" will be an integrated unit that engages students in an exploration of who they are. The products in this craft kit will allow students to explore and create representations of themselves.
Using the read aloud "The Colors of Us" as a springboard, students will complete activities that encourage self-exploration and help create awareness about other people and cultures.
Students will use the materials to create self-portraits, interactive books, and other projects that will incorporate a variety of skills, all while encouraging them to learn more about themselves and their classmates.
It's a vital skill for students to be able to see and understand the differences and similarities among their classmates and neighbors in their communities. These supplies will encourage students through this process.
