Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 21 eager Kindergartners in a high poverty city school. It is an inclusive classroom with half the students having special needs. The children come to school excited to learn but often without the experiences had by their counterparts in suburban schools.

My students do not have access to a computer in the classroom and most do not have access at home. With the technology age where it is, it is imperative that our students are introduced to computers at an early age.

My students need a netbook computer in the classroom. From playing educational games, to learning what "google" means, to learning to type, children could use the computer throughout the curriculum! I also have children with fine motor difficulties. With this computer being portable, the children could use the computer to type during writing time. Their creativity is stifled when their frustration impacts their writing.

Please help ensure that the class of 2022 is off to a great start! Help me give them the tools they need to be successful with skills that they can use throughout their lives!
