My Project

6th Grade is a wonderful time for our students where they face many changes both academically and in their personal growth. There are many academic stressors as well as many personal changes students are going through during this time. A wellness corner is an amazing tool for students to learn the importance of emotional regulation and practice using it in their daily lives. Wellness corners allow students to have a mindful moment, reset, and then join back in their regular school day.

We have learned how important and impactful mindful moments can be for students to be successful.

Offering them a calm, peaceful, safe place to reset their minds and their bodies will help them in facing all of the academic stressors and emotions they are dealing with throughout the year and aid them in being able to return to class ready to learn and give the day their best. It helps students learn the importance of regulation and allows them to see what a powerful tool it can be.

We all want the best for our students. We want to see them grow, flourish, and give them every opportunity to be successful. By having a wellness corner, we help students with their most basic needs to feel safe and calm so that they can successfully learn in the classroom. Without those basic needs met, students cannot have their minds ready for learning. Wellness corners offer students the tools to help them learn to regulate their emotions, give them a safe place to process and reset, and allow them to move forward so they can be successful learners.
