My Project
My students students adore tackling real-world problems, enthusiastically using manipulatives to explore complex concepts. They are a teacher's dream – engaged, passionate, and ready to learn. However, the energy and focus required for deep mathematical thinking can sometimes become overwhelming. Like all of us, these students need moments of calm and self-regulation to recharge and refocus, ensuring they can return to their explorations with renewed vigor.
Currently, my math classroom lacks a designated space for students to de-escalate and manage their emotions.
This is where your generous support can make a profound difference. By providing a calming corner, furnished with a soft, comfortable rug and a few bean bag chairs, you will create a sanctuary within our classroom – a place where students can retreat when they need a moment to themselves. This dedicated calming corner will provide a comfortable and inviting space for students to practice self-regulation techniques, such as deep breathing or mindfulness, allowing them to return to their math work feeling refreshed and ready to learn.
