I hope this message finds you well! My name is Alexis Johnson, and I am the Academic School Counselor at GEO Next Generation High School.

This year, Louisiana implemented a cell phone ban in secondary schools, which has posed a challenge for our students as they adjust to life without social media and messaging apps. However, I am thrilled to share that we are seeing positive changes! Students are beginning to engage in meaningful conversations, both in the hallways and during lunch. It’s been heartening to witness such genuine interactions—something I have not seen to this extent in my time in education.

To further support this positive trend, I am seeking sponsorship for our lunch initiative, "The Chatty Lunch Bunch." This program aims to create a safe and engaging space for students to connect with peers and staff while working on specific social-emotional goals during lunch.

We plan to use board games to foster healthy dialogue and a projector for fun games like Jeopardy or Kahoot. Our ultimate goal is to promote team-building exercises that encourage meaningful conversations and strengthen relationships within our school community, helping to establish trust and expand our Tiger family.
