Help me give my students a premium folding rainbow rest mat and other tools to foster social-emotional learning and stress relief for students in our calming station.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love watching my k-5 students grow and thrive as they develop essential social-emotional skills. Each resource in my cart is carefully chosen to support their unique needs. The infinity cube fidget toy, fidget controller, and kinetic sand will help my students with ADHD focus and self-regulate. The weighted lap pad, therapy putty, and stress ball will provide calming comfort, while the SEL book set and kids' book about anxiety will facilitate open discussions about emotions and mental health.
Specifically, I plan to use these materials in a variety of ways to create a comprehensive social-emotional learning program.
For example, I will use the inflated wobble cushion seat and emotion cushion seat during circle time to encourage active learning and empathy, as students explore different feelings and perspectives. The water sound machine will create a soothing atmosphere for mindfulness exercises, such as deep breathing and guided meditation. I also plan to incorporate the fidget cube 100 pack into our daily routines, allowing students to use them during lessons to help them concentrate.
My goal for this project is to create a safe, supportive, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, heard, valued, and equipped with the tools necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The folding rainbow rest mat will provide a cozy space for students to relax and recharge, promoting self-care and relaxation techniques. The flex chair will allow students to work comfortably in small groups, fostering collaboration and teamwork. With these resources, I aim to empower my K-5 students to develop essential life skills and become compassionate empathetic leaders of tomorrow.
