My Project
I absolutely love my 3rd grade students. They are motivated to learn, kind to others and respectful. They are avid readers and very creative. I plan to create a calming corner with social emotional charts and coping skills, Moods/Feelings Flipbooks, Teepee Tent, Wiggle Seat, Sress Balls and Sensory Fidget Tubes to help with anxiety.
I would like to create a calming corner that is inviting, relaxed, comfortable and provides extra flexible seating with extra resources and supplies to enrich my warm classroom environment.
Having a calming corner area will give students a safe place to just relax during those times when they just need time to think and decompress. The mornings, after recess and lunch time are when problems arise the most. This will allow them a chill out moment to regroup.
