My Project

With this project, I will be able to provide a calming corner of my classroom to give my students a space where they can feel safe to regulate their emotions. The floor pillows and calming lamp will give my students a relaxing and safe space to calm down and de-stress.

To support students' social and emotional well-being, I need to provide a dedicated space that will have calming tools and materials to help encourage regulation.

In third grade, students begin to experience bigger emotions. They start to learn the skills to help them cope with these feelings. Materials like soft floor pillows and a calming sunset lamp bring stress levels down and give students a moment to collect themselves. Including these materials in my calming corner will give my students a sense of calm and allow them to have a space to practice their regulation strategies.

In my classroom I want to be able to support my students academically as well as their well-being. The floor pillows and sunset lamp will allow me to provide a calming space dedicated to supporting the social-emotional needs of my students.
