My Students

This year my students are beginning common core and need exposure to great writing. They also need to be able to cite from multiple texts. At the end of the year, these wonderful kids will have experienced London's writing technique and become better readers and writers in the process.

My classes are ethnically diverse and are at all different social-economic levels and profiecency levels.

Their shared experiences have bond them as a community of learners. I teach at a K-8 school and many of these 7th graders have been together since they were 5 years old. They are sweet, well-behaved 12 and 13 year olds.

My Project

The Call of the Wild books will be used for common core practice. The standards were designed to prepare all students for success in college, career, and life by the time they graduate from high school. I want my kids to be successful in high school and beyond. So we will be practicing citing from the text, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Any donation is appreciated and will benefit their education.

Some kids don't have access to good books therefore they don't like reading. This book could be the difference. Reading is a life skill and the sooner they reach grade level the better.
