Help me give my students a Honeybee Education class to observe and explore the intricate world of the honeybees that are essential to our environment and very much in danger of extinction!

My Students

I teach at a diverse urban public school in Brooklyn. The students at my school are goofy, kind, curious and eager to learn new things.

Not only are the students exciting to be around, but they are also some of the most caring, hardworking, and curious first graders who bring their open-mindedness into the classroom each and everyday.

As their teacher, I strive every day to motivate my students to achieve their highest potential through reading, writing, math, science, music and exploration!

My Project

This project will be a culminating activity for my students to take an up close look at the intricate lives of honey bees. Through this CityGrowers 90-minute session on honeybees my students will learn about the important role honeybees play in agriculture and how important they are to our environment.

Additionally, students will observe these super-organisms through a glass hive, plant bee friendly-crops, and taste honey that these creatures work so hard to produce.

Furthermore, we will discuss action steps in our classroom that we can take as a community to continue supporting bees in our environment and what individual steps we can take in our everyday lives!
