My Project
Dear Donors,
I hope this message finds you well.
As an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher, I am reaching out to share an exciting opportunity for my students to deepen their understanding of history and humanity through literature. In our upcoming Holocaust unit, I am eager to introduce them to the powerful narrative of The Boy from Block 66 by Marilyn Monaham.
The Boy from Block 66 is a poignant novel that offers a unique perspective on the Holocaust through the eyes of a young boy, providing a compelling and accessible entry point for students to engage with this significant period in history. Through the protagonist's journey, students will explore themes of resilience, courage, and the enduring human spirit in the face of adversity.
By incorporating this novel into our curriculum, I aim to foster empathy, critical thinking, and historical awareness among my students. Through thoughtful discussion and reflection, they develop a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and learn valuable lessons about compassion, tolerance, and the importance of standing up against injustice.
However, acquiring classroom resources can be a challenge which is why I am turning to your generosity and support. I am requesting funding to purchase copies of The Boy from Block 66 for my students, ensuring that each one has access to this transformative literary experience. With your help, we can provide them with the tools they need to engage meaningfully with the subject matter and cultivate a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Thank you for considering my request and for your dedication to supporting education. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of my students, and, for that, I am truly grateful.
