The Black Child Experience Project in 1st Representation Matters!

Help me give my students a new classroom space filled with the black child experience and representation throughout the classroom!

My Project

I wanted to bring in more engaging books to the classroom for my students to learn about the Black experience in the United States. These books will help to teach diversity and appreciation here in the classroom, school, and in their own lives. We will learn about racial equity and the rich stories of children and black people in the United States that persevered through the many challenges they faced in our country.

Please give my students a new classroom space, filled with a multitude of rich Black literature, a library space complete with a chair, rug, wiggles stools, and book bins, to create a calm and welcoming space for our students.

Many of these students are black and brown children who will see themselves reflected throughout our classroom.

I have included in our project, schools supplies and resources that our students will need to complete various social studies activities that are based in representation throughout the school year. This project will allow me to transition from a 4th grade classroom to a 1st grade classroom before the beginning of the 2025- 2026 school year. Thank you always for your support!
