This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In Pre-K students engage in center-based play twice daily. One of our classroom centers is a library. My goal for this project is to attract more students to the library center by giving them a warm and comfortable place to sit. My students enjoy listening to read alouds each day and I know they would enjoy reading their favorite books on a large comfortable couch.
Soft furnishings such as a sofa will make a huge positive impact in our classroom.
It will increase collaboration, create a warm homey environment, and allow for more improved focus and concentration helping students stay on task with reading. The larger seating area will also make it more comfortable for multiple students to sit in the library at once which leads to increased cooperation in the classroom.
