Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The books on my list are books that have high interest between students. Graphic novels have become comfort books for so many students. In some cases, they are the only types of books they enjoy reading. The audiobooks are for the library's listening library where students come to read together. The audio books I have chosen are also high interest which will help replace some outdated cassettes.
These high interest materials are important for literacy motivation.
Students will find more books that interest them, and this will help them grow a lifetime love and interest for reading. Books with high interest also create more buzz as more and more students learn what they do and do not like while reading. Having a high variety of genre will help to contribute to a student's social and emotional growth. The more variety students have, the more they learn about the world around them.
