This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from very low-income homes. Most of them have single parents or parents who need extra assistance. The kids we have are just trying to stay out of jail like their family members. With the help of athletics and extracurricular events, we strive to keep them and teach them all the meaning of a team/family. We strive to teach them every day goals and to show that we care for each and every student.

We want to change the community.

Athletics gives everyone an opportunity to grow and excel in the future. We teach not only fundamentals but everyday life skills. In athletics, we do not have a lot of funding since most of our kids do not even own the proper shoes, let alone matching uniforms. I have always been an advocate for looking good and playing well​.

My Project

Our fundraising budget has been low. We cannot do certain things anymore according to the new guidelines provided to us by the CDC. We cannot do car washes, bake sales or things that we used to do to be able to purchase equipment. We are currently looking into seeing how we can afford to pay refs, let alone trying to purchase equipment that is needed.

We have a hard enough time trying to get things going-but with your help we are looking to change things!

I know this would mean so much to our student athletes!
