My Project
This is my first year working as a high school art teacher in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It is an alternative school where students benefit from smaller class sizes, emotional support, and additional scaffolding. A.C.C.E. is often one of students' last opportunities to work toward graduation in an in-person setting.
I came in as the first art teacher for the school in almost two years!
My room was basically empty. I've worked hard to gather donations to stock it; now I'm asking you to help.
I would love to give students an experience beyond just pencil, paper, and paint. I believe using encaustic media is a hands on way to engage all students' creative side as they layer colorful melted bee's wax!
