Help me give my students percussion instruments such as table gongs, Lummi Sticks, Boomwhackers, Rhythm Blocks, scarves, etc. to increase their ability to keep a steady beat.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from more than 20 countries with as many native languages represented. Each week we welcome newcomers from around the world. Many of our students live in high poverty conditions and don't have opportunities to make instrumental music with others.
Music offers a way for us to explore and express ourselves without words.
Making music together creates an instant, welcoming community which fosters creativity and a sense of belonging. In each class, we sing, play instruments, move, create and use technology.
My Project
Without a steady beat, music is unorganized, chaotic noise. Instruction using percussion instruments gives student musicians meaningful and enjoyable opportunities to practice keeping a steady beat.
Studies have shown that the ability to keep a steady beat enhances reading fluency and language skills.
Our scholars need literacy and language support from as many sources as possible. Musical experiences are engaging and inclusive of each and every student, regardless of their native language.
Our percussion instruments have been well cared for but so many are in need of replacement. Please help give my amazing student musicians these new options for making music.
