it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need equity and some brotherly love! We are an emotional support classroom located in the inner city of Philadelphia, where my students are growing up in a community surrounded by drug activity and gang violence. My vision for our classroom is for my students to feel welcomed, safe, and loved. They have the right to the same educational opportunities as other students right outside Philadelphia, and they deserve the necessary resources for their additional emotional support needs.
Elementary school is the foundation for our future.
We are part of this community together. Our students in our community need a safe learning environment, engaging activities, and a support system of teachers and resources to cultivate their love of learning and to help them succeed!
My Project
My classroom is going for the gold medal this school year! I am implementing an Olympic theme in my classroom in order to generate students who are positive, dedicated, and ambitious. Many of the students in our surrounding community do not have a healthy self-perception. My goal is for my students to learn self-awareness, confidence, vulnerability, and teamwork. This cannot be accomplished without the basic resources of a classroom, such as pencils for creative writing, erasers for the learning curves, ink for engaging activities, and library shelves for my avid readers.

I want my students to be reaching their individual goals to become their own Olympic Champion! These supplies will aid my lessons in reading, math, and social skills. I am always looking for creative ways to adapt and accommodate for my students' special learning needs.
