This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the first time you walked into your first grade classroom? I bet you can still remember where your seat was located and the number of books located in the classroom library that you were anticipating reading. This year it was hard for me to paint that picture for my students.
My students are highly motivated and eager to learn.
Anything that attracts their eyes, they are ready to touch, feel and enjoy. My students attend a low income school in the Bronx. And while my students are eager to learn, they are missing a few things from their classroom. I was newly placed into the 1st grade teachers position. I am ready to teach them everything that they need to learn. But I am missing a few materials to help them achieve that goal.
My Project
With your help in providing these resources, my students would have access to leveled books to guide and enhance their reading. Also the students would have a place to store all of the math manipulatives which are still in boxes and not readily available for the students use.
