The Bare Necessities

My students need basic classroom resources that will help them become better readers and writers. This includes a chart stand, chart paper, and copy paper.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every morning, my students are excited to start the day at school. They are eager to read and even though they are 5th graders, still enjoy being read aloud to. We like to gather together at the carpet and discuss whatever books we are currently reading.

My students are funny, curious, and are motivated to learn.

I love to see how they each show their personalities in different ways throughout the day. Whether it is my quiet student who suddenly says a joke or my more talkative students who come up to me out of nowhere and give me a hug. We have become a classroom family in a short span of time.

My Project

In my classroom, we have reading and writing workshops. Part of these workshops is gathering at the carpet each day to read, write, chart our thinking, and returning to our charts as we need it. We do not have a chart stand, chart paper, or copy paper provided by the school. These resources will make it possible for us to have true reading and writing workshops and complete charts that will be resources my students can use during their independent reading and writing time.

These donations will make it possible for us to jot down our thinking as we work together.

These charts will allow my students to be more independent as they are resources and students can go back to whenever they need it.
