What do you call a bunch of kids staring at and interacting with a screen? Online Students! This pandemic has been a burden in many ways but it definitely has created many opportunities in other ways. My students are dedicated learners who have found their space in online school. My goal is to give them a comfortable learning experience that prepares them for junior high, high school, and beyond.
In our class, we enthusiastically use the tools we have at our fingertips to enhance our minds.
We study math, language arts, science, social studies by correlating them to real-life situations.
My Project
The pandemic has made online school a great alternative for education. Many students have taken advantage of this modality and have flourished. Unfortunately, with this new solution comes a new set of challenges. Many of the teachers who teach online or have taught online talk about backaches and headaches. My students started missing some classes because of headaches and back pains. It hit me that my students were probably experiencing the same thing.
I am asking for gel seat cushions to help alleviate back pain and back problems caused by students sitting on the floor of their rooms or on dining chair tables that are not designed for sitting for hours in front of a computer screen.
The light filtering glasses will help curb strained and tired eyes. Finally, the pop-its will be used as a math aid but also as a way to relieve stress. (I personally realized how helpful the pop-its were after having to sit through a day-long meeting.)
Online learning is here to stay. My goal is to keep the students healthy and pain free as we continue to learn.
