Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom population mostly consists of Hispanic and African-American students who participate in the free lunch program. Many students are English Language Learners and many receive special education services.

My students are inquisitive, creative and optimistic.

They show up ready to learn and ask meaningful questions. They also enjoy discussing what they have read and writing journal entries.

Attending school is a first step toward success. Although my students may face obstacles, it does not deter them from following their dreams. They aspire to become pediatric registered nurses, entrepreneurs, journalists, veterinarians and more!

My Project

At the end of each marking period, students are recognized in the auditorium for earning high honors, honors, and outstanding performance and most improved in each subject area. As a result, certificates are needed to print the students' names and award titles.

Celebrating students' work improves our school's culture.

Grade level students unite alongside families, teachers and administrators to congratulate recipients for their accomplishments. The awards ceremony highlights the quality of work our students are producing every day.

Students look forward to gathering and finding out if they have made honor roll or if a teacher selected them for an award. It is an exciting time for all.
