I teach a gifted education class ranging from grades 2-6. The school in which I teach is a low-income, rural school. My students have little to no exposure to the visual arts.
As a teacher of the gifted, part of my curriculum is giving my students some exposure to the visual arts. We are very limited in resources and are located in a very rural area. It is very difficult to give these students some exposure to the visual arts with such limited funds and resources.
I would like to have some books that give information on famous artists and their styles. I would also like some supplies (such as paints, sculpting materials, and canvas) to be able to let the students try using the styles of these artists, or even create their own styles. Who knows, I may have a future artist in my class!
Your help will ensure that my students are given the exposure to the visual arts, as well as the experience of trying their hand at being an artist.
